DS 79

Hi there all and happy Thursday. It's been a hot one here today where I live. High thirties it reached, and into the forties in other parts of Victoria.

Good crafting weather though, keeping cool in front of the air conditioner.

This week's Deconstructed sketch was designed by the awesome Jen Shults. It  didn't take me long at all to put this one together. I'm pretty sure I followed her sketch to the letter too.

For my card I used The Greeting Farm's Latte Anya, and scraps of patterned paper. I stamped Anya onto watercolor paper and colored her using Tim Holtz distress markers. I think my watercoloring skills are slowly improving.

My very dear friend has just moved to a town 1000s of kilometres away, and I sent this to her for her Birthday. I miss her so much. She does read my blog but she has already received the card  so all is good.

There's lots of inspiration on the Design team's blogs, so make sure you check out their samples.....

Then don't forget to link up your entry on  THE DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH BLOG

SPECIAL MUM

Today I have both a card and a cake to share.

It was my lovely Mum's birthday and I made a quick card for her with no coloring. It was super quick in fact, as I based it on a card by my dear friend Julie who is an awesome cardmaker.

I used a MME paper pad which has lots of gorgeous coordinating papers.

We also celebrated our daughter's 15th birthday last weekend with a high tea at home for her friends.

This is the cake I made for her. Although the ruffles were a little time consuming, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to do. The beautiful roses on top are fresh from my Dad's garden!

That's all for today.
I'll see you tomorrow with this week's Deconstructed Sketch.

Tracey.

A SMASHING DS78

Hi there and Happy Thursday to all.

It's Deconstructed Sketch time and I am super-excited as I have another Smash page to share with you today.

It's my second Smash page ever, and I think I will just fill the album with all of my favorite colored images.

So here goes.

I'm hoping that with time I will become more laid back and casual and worry less about where everything goes on my page. I'm kind of happy with my first 2 attempts though.
I used one of Krista's newer Saturated Canary stamps, which I love, and of course used this week's Deconstructed Sketch.

I know the DT's cards are particularly awesome this week, so make sure you check them out.

Don't forget to visit JEN'S DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH BLOG There's no time limit to play along with this week's sketch. Make sure you link up your card too for us all to see.

I'll see you all again in two weeks for our next sketch after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Bye for now,

Tracey.

I'M SMASHING!

I've been lacking motivation a little lately, so thought I would try something different. For some time now I've wanted to try "smashing", so I finally took the plunge and had a go. For those of you who haven't heard of smashing, it is like scrapbooking but in a smaller, ready made and often themed little book. Mine is just going to be for me, I think, with lots of my favorite images colored in.

Anyway, I'd like to share my very first page with you today. I made it a couple of months back whilst on retreat, and I pulled it out today to work on my second page, which I will share tomorrow.

I just may have to do another page now that says i heart distress markers too!

I'll be back tomorrow with my second page which might just be based on Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #78.

Bye for now.

DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH # 77

Hi there and Happy Thursday to you all. Yes, it's Deconstructed Sketch time.

I have a surprise for you this week. You may recall some weeks ago i began playing with a different coloring medium, Distress markers. It has taken me many, many hours of practicing to get the hang of it, and I finally think I may have colored an image that is "card worthy".

What do you think? (please be gentle)

I've made a little resolution to use at least one stamp per week from  my rather large stash that has never been inked up before. This stamp is the first. It's from Lily of the Valley and it is so sweet. Coloring fur is one of the most difficult things for me, and it seemed to be way easier with distress markers.
The happy birthday sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.
Papers are a mix of my minds Eye and Echo Park.

I used Jen's fabulous Sketch which was fabulously easy to follow.

You can find plenty of inspiration from the DT girls on their blogs.

Then head on over to THE DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH BLOG to link your creation up.

Have a great rest of the week,

Tracey.

DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH 76

Hi all and happy Thursday. It's Deconstructed Sketch time and I have a fab sketch for you all this week.

I particularly like this weeks sketch as it's round. I really enjoy making shaped cards, especially round ones, so I had no trouble at all coming up with ideas this week.

I'm loving Saturated Canary images at the moment, and I have paired her with some Basic Grey paper and a few simple embellishments.

Make sure you check out the rest of the team for inspiration...

...and then pop on over to THE DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH to link up your project.

We would love you to join in this week.

Thanks for stopping by.
